Project description

Lansdowne park

The project’s landscape architects chose Avenue pavers to cover 215,000 square feet of the Promenade.
A fresh modern look for the 18-acre urban park

Nearly two years after work began on it, Lansdowne Park has officially opened in Ottawa. The new 18-acre urban park has large grassy spaces, courtyards, a heritage orchard, outdoor curling and a children’s garden.

Vancouver’s PFS Studio Senior Landscape Architect Jeffrey Staates was elated that Ottawa opted for Bolduc pavers. “With their rich palette of colours and consistent Grenart finish, the Bolduc Avenue pavers were just right for our needs. For a park like Lansdowne, with hundreds of thousands or even millions of visitors a year, the product had to be high-quality, durable and blend in well with the environment. I also appreciated that Bolduc prepared custom colours for the project and met the projects very tight timelines. We are very proud of the final outcome and are confident that visitors will appreciate the details of the layout,” he said. Work began in October 2013 and should be complete by November this year.
