Project description

Rosanne-Laflamme Sports Center

5000 sq. ft. of granite gray, ivory and anthracite Avenue Pavers

The Sports Centre under the Scalpel!

The Rosanne-Laflamme Sports Center underwent a $2.8 million facelift for its Terrasse du Centre and parking lot.

Proposed upgrades had been put off ever since 2001, but the job is finally done and the surgery a success! Customers now enter a flourishing sports center. The city of Longueuil invested the $2.8 million into the project to upgrade the Terrasse du Centre water and sewage system, improve its lighting grid and change the landscape.

Located at the entrance to the running track and football and soccer fields, the 5,000 sq. ft. of Avenue pavers were laid just outside the fences to serve as a gathering place near the stands. The design is unique to the city of Longueuil! Referred to by the city as the “DNA Pattern”, it is installed in a random manner. The design and the pavers’ ivory, granite gray and anthracite colours found in public places serve as a signature of sorts for the city.
